Philip Abdoush MD
Philip Abdoush is the Director of Neurocritical Care at the Los Angeles Brain and Spine Institute. Dr. Abdoush is also Director of Neurocritical Care at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.
Dr. Abdoush recieved his basic medical education at the University of Damascus, Syria. After immigrating to the United States Abdoush completed an internship in Surgery at New Rochelle New York and a residency in Internal Medicine at Dearborn, Michigan. From there, Abdoush went on to complete a demanding 2 year fellowship program in Neurocritical Care at the famed Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Abdoush has special competencies in the management of the criticaly ill neurological patient. His expertise includes the management of cerebral edema, stroke, intracerebral hemmorhage, subarachnoid hemmorhage, spinal cord injuries, status epilepticus, myasthena gravis and the use of hypothermia after cardiac arrest.
Dr. Abdoush maintains an interest in neuroscience research and is an active contributer to the institute's research interests.
Dr. Abdoush is the first community hospital based fellowship trained Neurocritical Care physician to practice in Los Angeles.
